08/28/2013: JR Portrait Inspiration – Ted Talks

Today in class, I watched JR portrait inspiration: Ted Talks. The speaker was an artist who at a young age had the courage to take photography that you normally encounter in museums and galleries and bring it outside. This act helps introduce the everyday populace encounter art in unlike places such as the slums in poverty stricken areas as seen in the presentation today. I think that this is important because not everyone has access to art or the freedom of expression. Art provides a commentary, an emotion, something that can provide an insight to the viewer. So when this artist brings his street gallery to a village, city, or country, the people become witnesses of something revolutionary.
